New York City’s Housing Department (HPD) recently put out a request for proposals to develop mixed use affordable housing in Hell's Kitchen on Manhattan's far west side. The challenging site conditions include an Amtrak easement for the Empire passenger service line running beneath the site and an adjacent open space to be developed as a park that is an access point for the city's Water Tunnel #3. UQ was chosen by affordable housing developers Omni NY as their architect for the project. Terrain, a landscape architecture firm, also joined the design team.
