Overview

Built in 1860 by the Religious Society of Friends, the 15th Street Quaker Meeting House and Seminary are a campus of historic landmark buildings built across from Stuyvesant Park on the East Side of Manhattan. 

The buildings are shared between the Friends Seminary School and the New York Quarterly Meeting and have been renovated over the years to suit new and evolving functions.

This includes creating a new library space and event space, redesigning the common room that currently serves as a gym for young children in the daytime and a homeless shelter in the evenings, and proposals to better utilize office and storage spaces and to create better egress options throughout the buildings.
